Watched the bluray last night.
Actually fairly indifferent film in my opinion. Would have been annoyed at the cinema if I'd had to pay for the whole family.
Not two hours wasted though.

So when they carbon date the aliens on LV223 they discover they died ~2000 years ago. As this coincides with the rise of monotheism, is this why the engineers chose a destructive return?
