Just been having a chat with my sister on MSN. She's currently in Sweden on a placement as part of her medical degree, working at a clinic for sex related issues (primarily testing for STIs).

A chap had come in today to get tested, and for once it was a patient who spoke English, so she was able to follow the whole discussion (she is observing, not diagnosing). It transpired that someone this guy had slept with (he was something of a swinger) had been having sex with dogs. This is illegal in Sweden as it is over here. The chap was also discussing with the Doctor whether he should be reporting it to the police or not. The issue was that this woman was having a puppy specially trained for these activities, and the person who was doing the training was none other than a police officer. In turn the chap was basically too scared to go to the place for fear of revenge.

And you think our lot are bad…

It'll be the same everywhere. Make someone higher than everyone else and they'll take advantage of that...Remember P.E. teachers

I know a Swedish guy, his name is Hans, he seems to have a stutter, talks to me a lot about OpenSolaris...

I don't think being a policeman has anything to do with it really. Would it make it any more palatable were it a dole-scurfing scummer? No.

I believe our comrade Snowy was drawing comparisons between your statement and the comic sayings of the Wiggum child.

The difference is that most events in the UK where the police are getting it wrong tend to be heat of the moment occurences. They aren't pre-meditated activities with the threat of retribution hanging about if they are reported.
