One of my colleagues recently left and her new job involves watching piolts and new shows. She's posted on FB this morning and has said to look out for the following shows:

Arrow (seen the ads for this but can't remember which channel)
Revolution
The Following

As and when I hear more I'll let you know.

Sky One (HD). Starts on the 22nd.

A show about Twitter doesn't sound all that interesting tbh...

I've heard a lot of good things about 'Elementary', haven't seen anything beyond trailers yet though.

The Following stars Kevin Bacon as an FBI agent who sets out to catch a serial killer. The killer, played by James Purefoy, has spawned an entire cult of serial killers, which I imagine makes for a fun task for the FBI agent.

Yeah Green Arrow TV series looks good but I hope it's not the new Smallville.

Pilot shows are OK, but you need to see the first two or three to get a measure of it. Sometimes, a pilot can be quite weak, but the show picks up, other times all the good ideas are exhausted in episode 1, and the rest of the episodes end up being an extended chase or effort to reach an unattainable goal.

And, of course, when the show has proven that it is of high quality, it gets axed. Ref: Firefly.

I am starting to think that Continuum is going to fall into the former category. I know it has been renewed, and I have hope that it does more than it appears to be doing right now, but I temper that optimism with experience.

There are plenty of US shows that could do well here but never survive a season. Allen Gregory is on E4 I think but has already been cancelled in the US.

These are not pilots. They are series that have been made and are being shown over here.

There is a new pilot called Mockingbird Lane which is basically a remake of the Munsters.

I wonder if they will use the original street set. Seeing as though Desperate Housewives is over, it likely needs some use.

Yes - Mockingbird Lane is the same street set used for Wisteria Avenue.

Me too.

Arrow looks interesting and they're going "in a different direction to Smallville". The opening 5 minutes look good, but I'll reserve real judgement for a full viewing.

Revolution is the new JJ show, so chances are, everyone will compare it to Lost and it'll get canned within a season.

Don't know the third one, but I have to do other stuff rather than just watch TV all the time!
