Someone has done a version of the classic game for the iPad. The controls are a bit odd though. iTunes link : https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/unknown ... 61195?mt=8

I've still got the Acorn version and the wife is going to a school re-union the weekend after next. I think my save game is at Above Average or Competent

I reached Elite and nearly sent off the post-card to register... ...and then I noticed I was nearly 10 years past the deadline I wonder if the C15 will still load

I remember playing Elite on the spectrum, wasn’t there a funny plastic reader you had to hold to the screen to decode the password?

Lenslock. Utterly useless as a protection mechanism, but almost as much fun as some of the games. according to wikipedia, Elite did use it.

I had Frontier: First Encounters as well. It was a bit bonkers with the way it tried to be too realistic with space flight.
