What? Nobody's ever been done for supplying weapons? How specific are we getting here? :?

And I wouldn't be surprised if they've already got someone in mind; we saw that sort of thing a lot over here.

On a happier note, it seems it's still quite difficult to get hold of illegal guns in the UK - amazing in this day and age, especially when you consider the drugs/people/counterfeit goods routes.

Indeed. Surely the book could be thrown at people already for supplying guns. Or were the sentences for that relatively minor?

I think that they are trying to eliminate the illegal guns on the streets via middle men. The problem is that when people want a gun there will be someone who will find one for supply.

Ernie has a point. Supplying a firearm without the proper paperwork (both on the seller's and buyer's parts) is already an offence which carries a significant jail term if convicted. Are this government really trying to sell 'police actually do their job' as a major initiative now? Well, I suppose it makes a change from them tasering blind pensioners.

While ernie has a point for the majority of people if you mix with a bad crowd I suspect that the odds increase dramatically.
