With soap, I soak the brush, shake off excess, hold the soap dish upside down and load the brush. I then transfer the brush to the shaving mug (latte cup) and mix, adding drops of water at a time, until I generate a reasonable lather. Since I use a synthetic brush, I cannot face lather (doesn't work).

My synthetic brush gets a lather going on my face quite easily.

Right, I've had a look through my inventory. Now I've settled on my blades, I hate to chuck away the unused ones if it'll help someone else. I have:

5x Gillette Super Thin Platinum
6x Personna platinum
4x Gillette 7 o'clock Super Stainless
9x Personna Super
4x Shark super Stainless
1x Gillette 7 o'clock Super Platinum
9x Gillette 365
4x Lord Platinum
1x Derby Extra
1x Merkur (I think this is the one that came with my razor)
2x Wilkinson Sword (thought I had more!)

Anyone who wants these is welcome to them. Happy to mix'n'match. Will post for no charge.

Consider leaving one in work? Or your dad or something?

No one else I know is into DE shaving. Might as well give them away or they go in the bin.

I'll take the Gillette's, Personna's & Wilkinson Swords if they're going.

If nobody else wants the rest I'll take them as well.

You need to change from a synthetic brush, I change between various grades of badger, an omega boar & a vie long horsehair.

My Kent BK4 has to be my favourite though.

At that price, might give it a bash. I paid around £25 for my men-u one. Rubbing badger fur on your face just feels wrong but if I were to go for badger, it'd be one of the better ones.

Fine with me. It's only the 365's I've not tried yet.

At the moment it stands like this:

saspro:
5x Gillette Super Thin Platinum
6x Personna platinum
4x Gillette 7 o'clock Super Stainless
9x Personna Super
1x Gillette 7 o'clock Super Platinum
9x Gillette 365
2x Wilkinson Sword

finlay:
4x Shark super Stainless
4x Lord Platinum
1x Derby Extra
1x Merkur

If saspro is happy with the plan, I could always slip finlay some of the above blades. Will let you guys decide. Also happy to chuck in one Feathers blade and one Gillette 7 o'clock sharp edge since I've bought about 30 of each if neither of you have tried them.

Won't be posting them until Tuesday PM next week.
