Our team works in a sectioned off area in an office, 6 of us around one table, the short end of which faces a blank wall where we are considering a projector (or big screen/monitor) for team-reviews. One thing I'd like to get working would be to enable people to "push" their screens to the monitor at certain times, (saving everyone from jumping up and crowding around their monitor) and I've been trying to think how best to do it.

If we hook the monitor/projector up to an always-on client PC, I guess we could have something like TeamViewer or Skype's screen-share solution constantly logged on - but that seems a bit clunky - so I was wondering if there'd be any other way - for instance if there was a multi-user KVM on the market, or some other RDC-esque trick?

Equally, we're thinking of doing something in both our primary and secondary meeting rooms, but they don't have the multi-computer issue, just a need for a client PC to be always-on with the network (we'll happily RDC to one of our workstations or virtual desktops for scenarios and software that require more computing horsepower than a Powerpoint show & tell. I'd like these setups to be controlled by a nice wireless keyboard/mouse combo set, and offer video conferencing of some kind (we're not talking Polycom money mind) - so I'm looking into that aswell.

Any suggestions, for either setup, would be greatly recieved.

gotomeeting or join.me (free) allow screen sharing.

join.me would work fine.

And that'd require a client for each monitor yes? And would we need a (I imagine not free) commercial use license.

it's all run over a web page.

It's free to use providing you don't mind generating a new link each time you need it
