As witnesses to the accident, surely they’d have to stop and give details? Or are the laws different in the USA?

Didn't know you HAD to stop.

I have witnessed accidents but because there have been other cars much closer I've just driven on.

IANAL but AFAIK, only the drivers and other participants have to stop.

RTA 1988 says nothing AFA I can see about an obligation on a bystander to provide a statement. The only reference I can find is:

Quote:
181 General provisions as to accident inquiries.

  1. Where an accident arises out of the presence of a [mechanically propelled vehicle] on a road, the Secretary of State may direct inquiry to be made into the cause of the accident.

  2. Where any accident arising out of the presence of a [mechanically propelled vehicle] on a road has occurred, a person authorised by the Secretary of State in that behalf may, on production if so required of his authority, inspect any vehicle in connection with which the accident arose, and for that purpose may enter at any reasonable time any premises where the vehicle is.

  3. If a person obstructs a person so authorised in the performance of his duty under subsection 2 above, he is guilty of an offence. [My emphasis]

  4. If in any case the Secretary of State considers that an inquiry to be made by him under this section should be made by means of the holding of a public inquiry, he may direct a public inquiry to be held.

  5. A report made by or to the Secretary of State as the result of an inquiry under this section shall not be used in evidence by or on behalf of a person by or against whom any legal proceedings are instituted in consequence of the accident to which the inquiry relates.

However that is about an obstruction of a vehicle inspection rather than a failure to provide a witness statement.

Some good fun but I do wish they spun it out to 90 mins. My fave has always been the Lotus.

There are probably enough cars to do it as well.

They covered the Lotus extensively but would have loved to have say a road test of each vehicle too.

Tbf, the majority of Bond cars are pretty generic. There's only the DB5 and the Esprit that people actually really remember. The 200GT is rare which makes it vaguely interesting but other than that....the modern Astons are nice cars even those, you wouldn't be that surprised to see one in the street.

I laughed at Hammond talking about shameless product placement in one of the older films - the Craig series knocks that into a volcano hideaway.

When you consider the financial state of the studio they had no option but raise as much money upfront from product placement.

I was watching the 2000 GT thinking, hmm... I'd quite like to drive one of those, I wonder if there are any on Auto Trader?

And then came the line... "They are so rare that a second hand one like this will set you back half a million quid".
