All I can say is "YES" Use to play this as a kid - flying a ship that looked like the Liberator from Blake's 7 - got up to Viscount level. May well fund this via Kickstarter http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/146 ... s?ref=live

Interesting that the top rewards have already sold out.

I would be interested in a Mac version as well.

Now over £250k already If you see David Braben's interview on BBC then he says they intend to make the game for a PC first and then, if they have money, look at porting it to other platforms - so maybe Mac ?

Well Macs only make up around 10% of the market, but I think that many games are written in one language that can be easily recompiled for another OS.

Because Braben's been trying to remake Elite for, well, the best part of 40 years. And every attempt has been either an aborted failure, a dead duck or an utterly unplayable bugfest. There's nothing at all to indicate he's capable of actually doing the job. Plus the kickstarter page has absolutely nothing of any concrete nature on it - no screenshots, no design documents, not even a single concept sketch. Good luck to the people who have invested, really, but IMO they're wasting their time and money. Braben has a very long record of making promises he couldn't fulfill. They'll probably get something very late that doesn't meet their expectations at all but which he can claim is good enough to keep their money and he'll have all the bugs fixed really soon, honest. Ask anyone who paid money for Frontier.

I think the problem he had with remaking Elite was he was trying to do most of the work himself. Now he seems to have a proper "team" we might see something more concrete - hope so anyway.
