I care, but mostly because the UK seems to play second fiddle to the US. The White House seems to have more influence over British foreign policy than Downing Street does.

That said, I also agree the level of coverage is ludicrous given the piss poor coverage of elections that actually do affect the UK - such as European elections.

Romney/Ryan are like a Fast Show sketch, so I care for comedy purposes and fear for the planet...

Looks like Obama gets a second go at playing president. Here's hoping he's worked out how to do it this time.

Shame it was such an ugly campaign, leaving a weak president with no mandate to do anything, not that he really said he was going to do anything interesting (which remains true even if I wake up in the morning and find I've called it for the wrong guy).

With Obama's emphatic victory, it's sleepy time.

Thank Christ the Americans decided not to inflict Romney and Ryan upon the rest of the world.

Yes it would be a comedy gold mine, and hell for the planet. Only Pakistan wanted a Romney victory. Though I doubt that they even realised that he would be worse than Obama when he increases military spending.

I might even put a bet on that.

I can definitely see it being Hillary Clinton vs Jeb Bush next time around.

The BBC are still going on about it even though it's finished. This means no weather reports (local or national) and no local news which means no local traffic reports either. Which is, you know, stuff people may actually need to know rather than spending time watching talking heads jibber on which frankly nobody needs at all. I find this slightly irritating.

There was even talk of Joe Biden standing. From the way he obliterated the brainiest man from the GOP Paul Ryan at the vice presidential debate make him a credible choice.

Obama wins - but unless he and the Republicans controlling the House of Representatives can reach agreement to actually work together for the good of the country - then he'll be a lame duck until the next HoR elections in 2014.

It is a sword that cuts both ways. The Republicans lost a few well known names at the senator level.

I never understood how Ryan got the 'Brainy' tag. Nothing I saw led me to believe he was anything special.

In fact, him popping up on TV and calling himself a 'numbers guy' and then failing to lay out any facts or figures to support their economic plan (in the same interview!) made him look pretty stupid.

By the way, didn't Florida bother to declare, or was it just the BBC lost interest and didn't bother to update the election chart?
