Actually 80 US dollars, for girfriend. I'm not interested in phones so I'm useless, but if you guys help me out I'm going to take all the credit.

Touchscreen, will be used for map apps and messaging, MP3 and phoning, spotify... I think that's about it. she seems to like gigabytes, she says things like "this has more gigabytes so it's better" So she obviously wants decent music storage.

You're looking at an HTC Desire - the original one - at best.

Is that better than a Wildfire? The Wildfire was going for around 30 quid on ebay. 8-)

Samsung Galaxy S is about that price, better flashing support to stick a decent rom on it to make it feel faster too ;)

The buttons on old ones can stop working. My menu and home buttons now only work when they feel like it. Better to get one where the buttons are built into teh touch screen.
Avoid the original Wildfire, the screen resolution is pants.

A quick goole shows some 2nd hand Desire S phones for £60.
