I eventually got it ordered online with the deal... Somehow they can ship me the game for free, but not the PSN card. As soon as I've used up any credit with Tesco, I'm out. You wouldn't believe the rigmarole just putting the order through, and their prices across the store have been shocking recently. Fcuking prats, no wonder they're going down the tubes.

Games wise in store it is a joke, but the online food prices have been comparable to ASDA, if not better. They merged the entertainment website with Tesco direct so it is impossible to find the items with bonus club card points so I have simply stopped buying.

Wow. Sorry to hear the tough time you've had to just get a game. Still cheaper than buying individually.

M U L T I P L A Y E R S P O I L E R S

I really need to look things up w.r.t killstreak rewards. One of the cool things is the class creation. Ordinarily you'd have one primary weapon, one secondary, grenades, traps eg claymore, and three perks. The new system gives you ten "slots" and you can mix and match, so you can have six perks (6), one primary (1) with three attachments (3) = 10. That's with no grenades or secondary etc. To be able to use these, you have to unlock them with XP. You can't unlock all in one prestige - multiple prestiges are needed.

A bit like MW3, you have to increase weapon rank to unlock things like gunsights etc. Weapon stats are not reset on prestiging, so you can focus on maxing out a weapon.

Killstreak rewards are called scorestreak rewards and for a good reason. It takes 375 points to unlock UAV. That could be four kills, or three kills and three assists or some other combo eg capturing the flag etc.

I don't know how to unlock the scorestreaks, or set up the emblems (apparently, you can create three and switch between them) so I suspect I'll be busy with this in between matches. IMO though the best feature of all is the ability to mute everyone who's not in your clan. Press square to bring the menu up (in the lobby) and then X to mute them all. Within one second you can mute everyone and you don't have to suffer the pain of muting each one individually to find out you've missed one noisy idiot (and hence hear them whilst waiting for the game to start) or that you've muted one of your own.

1000 copies of BLOPS2 contain Mass Effect 2 discs instead

Apparently Bioware are in good spirits about the whole thing: if you get one of these discs you can send them a picture of the disc and get a free code for the game :P

I wonder if this COD player has the same advantage in Black Ops 2?

Like the sound of that, C_W.

I see the game has been continually freezing for many going by internet forums, PS3 the main culprit as expected... I can see me testing out the maps and new set-up before sending it back or trading it for more than I paid for it :P

I've had problems tonigh with PS3 freezing 3-4 times and playing only two maps the entire night. Rest of thetime just couldn't connect or got kicked off the servers. Complete PITA but the few times I've played it, it's been awesome so gonna stick it out.

That was the reason I got rid of BLOPS in the first instance (made money on it), bought it dirt cheap months later. Don't think they'd fixed it after 5 months IIRC... I can see my current purchase acting as a rental!

That will annoy the developers. I suspect that their response will be to clamp down on second hand sales. :(

If they playtested it and made sure it didn't have the same problems as their last release two years ago... and that's being kind to them, believe me.

I expect the game to be finished especially as I do not want to have to download a huge patch to fix a game. Though I do not play the multiplayer options as I am a crappy player so want it to play from the start.

Amnesia, there's a mode for first time multiplayers where you play in maps with "bots" rather than other humans. It allows you to get used to the game, the maps, the controls etc and your kills count towards your XP and you can level up. The max is level 10, so you'll still be reasonably okay once you go "live" with human multiplayers.

I remember playing MW2 - it was my first multiplayer on the PS3 (prev used to counter strike on PC) and I was awful for maybe the first few weeks if not months. By the end, I was one of the best in our clan.

To be honest I would rather play against the bots because I doubt that I would be any good against the humans. I got stuck on one level of Halo for 9 months because I could not remember my way out of the level.

TBH you just run around in circles shooting people. You don't need to know the map layout realistically.
