On a serious note, the Jimmy Savile cases put aside I can't help thinking what different times it was back then and wondering how much of it might be considered harmless fun? Now we're all PC it's shedding a different light on things. How far are they going to go with all this?

Well it was over 40 years time span, if not longer, so the numbers could be very credible. I would not be surprised if it increases still further. As for the cases against some others like DLT it may be nothing more than some mistaking what was purely consensual as coercion by a predator.

I don't doubt it could be in the hundreds, but to jump 150 people in three weeks? That's large speculation at best.

I think that the increase is probably down to people coming forward. Though many might not be credible, so the numbers in the end might fall. These are the numbers being investigated which is not the same as actually raped. That number could be higher or lower.

I know, but why even keep updating it in such a manner with nothing else said? It's public manipulation I suspect.

I think that the police are trying to catch up. They could look bad if they are seen to be slow on this, hence the constant updates. Plus 24 hour news coverage trying to fill those hours of the night when little happens.
