Amazon UK's sale is rubbish from what I've seen.

Their weekly sale is also bad, never seen anything remotely interesting on sale.

It's not all bad.

The BSG BluRay box set went for £29 this morning.

They have been doing deals on 256GB SSDs most of this week too.

Hmm, by the time I'd got onto the site this morning all the BSG box sets had already gone
But yes, £99 for a 256GB Crucial M4 not too bad but those also went in lightning quick time.

Some stuff in the sale has been ok IMO. I got the nephew some Turtle Beach headphones for his Xbox cheaper than anywhere else I could find on-line and I picked up a Love Film 6 month deal for £16 (new customers only). Also got the Mother-In-Law a Citizen Eco Drive watch for £85 supposedly down from £225 but I can't find that model anywhere else on-line to verify the price.

My girlfriend lives in the US so I've taken the opportunity, while I'm unemployed and not studying any more to live with here for the past 5 weeks.

She lives in a rented room with a communal area with two other housemates. I've done everything I can to stay out of their way, tidied, not touched anything of theirs except to make food with the shared utensils. I'm paying my share of the utility bills (while minimising using the shower/never touching the heating controls etc.)

So you'd think that if I said I have to stay another week because there are no flights over thanksgiving that I'm able to get on, they'd be alright with it.

Nope, constantly texting my girlfriend that I must be avoiding going back, implying I'm using her, lying to them and her, saying i should stay in a hotel for the remainding days. They're right about it not being the whole truth, i'm partially staying to talk to her family about our wedding plans, but that is NONE of their business and, as adults, you should respect that.

In short their are a couple of ignorant [LIFTED]. I think I must be a world champion in biting my tongue for the sake of my girlfriend living with them when i leave, but if it wasn't for that, I think I would tell the girl to go [LIFTED] herself, if she had a problem talk to the landlord/owner (neither of which is you you nosy bitch) and would have punched the other cocky redneck [LIFTED] to the floor, which would come as a surprise to him no doubt, because i'm good at the hugh grant quirky british act, but my temper is wearing thin.... but still, think of my girlfriend...)

I only have two more nights staying there, i'm currently at gf's parents house across state, i think i'm going to actively avoid housemates, they'll think it's because they've made me feel guilty/ashamed, little do they know it will because i can't be held accountable for my words/actions in their presence any more.

*breathes* I'm thinking at least i should quote american tenancy legislation at them should they say anything to my face instead of harrassing my girlfriend.

Thank you, If i'm honest i'm feeling pretty worthless at the moment, nothing like not feeling welcome in a place 6,000 miles away from home. Can't believe how ignorant they are being.

Best pull you punches, they Yanks don't mess around with sentences for violent crimes. The fact they deserve it means nothing there. Just don't invite them to the wedding.

To be fair if one of my housemates just randomly moved someone in for 6 weeks I'm pretty sure it would piss me off too.

Though maybe getting them gifts for putting up with you as leaving presents might ease the mood.

I was woken up for the bloody boat drill and I can't get back to sleep.
Looks like a twelve hour shift after three hours sleep.

Paycheque #2 still on emergency tax. Paycheque #3 is on 24th December. 1200 miles to do (600 of which vising various parents) and I can't overhaul my brakes and wheel bearings this month, all of which desperately need doing. £150 left after rent, food at home and fuel. Not including direct debits and all that.

Anything goes wrong with the car, I probably can't afford to fix it, I can't afford to pre-empt it, so I'm either working from home - which having explained the situation to my manager, he's been told this isn't an option as it's not an 'exceptional circumstance' - if I don't plough into a tree first, as there are some very steep hills here.

Thank you very much, human bloody resources. Christmas == cancelled. If I'm not up to my dashboard in a very surprised sheep by then, of course.
