From the BBC:

Quote:
Germany's ruling coalition is calling for a ban on bestiality - or the practice of having sex with animals.

The German parliament's agriculture committee is considering making it an offence not only to hurt an animal but also to force it into unnatural sex. Offenders could face a hefty fine.

Quote:
But Michael Kiok, the chairman of the pressure group Zoophile Engagement for Tolerance and Information (Zeta), said he was going to take legal action to fight the proposed changes.

"It is unthinkable that any sexual act with an animal is punished without proof that the animal has come to any harm," he said, adding that animals are capable of showing what they do, or do not, want to do.

"We see animals as partners and not as a means of gratification. We don't force them to do anything. Animals are much easier to understand than women," Mr Kiok claimed.

More here.

He's got an interesting definition of 'informed consent' there.

I have to say I'm rather surprised that there's a group speaking out in favour of "animals as partners"

Won't someone think of the children!

Actually, no. Don't think about it. :|

That reminded me of the 'NAMBLA' episodes of South Park where paedos are campaigning for rights... Probably best not to Google PIE either (Paedophile Information Exchange). They were supported by Amnesty apparently

Do you really want to say that? ;) I am surprised that it was allowable already. Maybe Germany should be twinned with Norfolk?

Y'see, that's why I didn't.

Maybe it's one of those things nobody ever thought people needed to be told not to do...

The potential for innuendo is immeasurable.

Me too, and a lot of Germans... When I moved here, one of my friends mentioned about freedom here, compared to England's Softporn laws, saying that most things were legal here, but not snuff, bestiality, incest or under age.

I guess they were wrong.
