That's the air intake runners. The exhaust is lower down, below that ribbed aluminium cover with the oil filler cap.

Not racist, no. Although that salute would be illegal in Germany I believe. Is that the one with the bullet hole? A little morbid, but still cool in an archaeological kind of way. Had my yearly one of those last week. It has the consequence (for a couple of hours) of really improving my long range vision but screwing my close in vision. I can read shop signs from a quarter a mile away but I can't read the time on the watch on my wrist.
Not good doing it on a really sunny day though. Yeeesh.

Walking back from the treatment centre, i was mr squinty eyeman. guess who forgot to take a pair of sunglasses. The nurse showed me the photos and described what was going to happen, which was interesting. though not as interesting as the Nikon d80 hooked upto the eye gear. _________________Finally joined Flickr
