The Hobbit producers sue 'mockbuster' film company
The synopsis for the Asylum film reads : "In an ancient age, the small, peace-loving Hobbits are enslaved by the Java Men, a race of flesh-eating dragon-riders. The young Hobbit Goben must join forces with their neighbour giants, the humans, to free his people and vanquish their enemies."

The Asylum have always been naughty. They've sailed close to the wind may times before.

I suspect they took their eye off the ball when they used the word 'hobbit'.

I suspect they thing the word "Hobbit" was a generic word like elf or goblin.

They managed to get away with using the word Alien in their seminal work "Alien vs Hunter".

Well the Ridley scott movies weren't the first thing to use the word 'alien' to represent 'extra terrestrial' by a long chalk. It may have (and given JRR's hobbies, probably does have) an old English origin, but in terms of films & books etc, 'hobbit' ~= JRR Tolkien much more than 'alien' ~= Ridley Scott.

Alien is a generic term that's still in common use. Hobbit is not.

DNA - and appropriately enough, it splices two films together...

Such a shame, the film looks amazing.

Actually it looks about as appealing as the real Hobbit film does...

Well, y'know, the work dried up a bit once Stargate finished and...

(question - if they're a primitive culture that have only developed basic stone spearpoints, how did he get his head shaved?)

There is evidence of shaving and even brain surgery being done with stone tools. Flint can be very fine and sharp.

And they may have used the application of a larger rock as anaesthetic.
