Heaven. It is -6 C right now.

We now have two heaters in the office and we've just crossed 16C. I may take my coat off soon...

Oh no! Kurt Cobain is such a rock god!
How can they possibly think of replacing him!
</Eric Cartman voice>

People are getting so precious over the fact that McCartney is fronting the reunion charity gig.

It's just that McCartney sucks so badly in a variety of ways. However, let's face it, vocally he is the spit of Kurt after all. It's uncanny.

Just like Paul Rodgers was the perfect person to front Queen.
It doesn't stop the originals from being just that.

It's like asking Neil Diamond to front for the Sex Pistols though.
So terribly, terribly wrong.

But entirely a decision to be made by the rest of the band.
If you're going to bemoan the decision, slag the people that made the decision, not the person they decided on.
You don't have to like it, just put your headphones on and listen to the original stuff.

But I'd rather be rude about it on the internet.
Anyway, it's all been blown out of all proportion - it's not a 'Nirvana' reunion.

"A spokesman confirmed that Foo Fighters’ singer Grohl recently asked McCartney to come along to "jam with some mates”. They were joined by Novoselic, 47, and guitarist Smear, 53, and McCartney suggested they “just make something up”.

He told The Sun: “I didn’t really know who they were. They are saying how good it is to be back together. I said ‘Whoa? You guys haven’t played together for all that time?”

“And somebody whispered to me ‘That’s Nirvana. You’re Kurt.’ I couldn’t believe it.”

In the same way that Chris Cornell singing with the rest of Rage Against The Machine = Rage Against The Machine.
As in, it doesn't, and this isn't really Nirvana. :)

Yesterday was, of course, 12/12/12.

Last night, there was a football match played in Italy (Juventus vs Cagliari in the Italian Cup). The match ended 1-0. The winning goal was scored in the 57th minute. Which is the 12th minute of the second half. The player who scored it was Sebastian Giovinco, who wears a shirt with the number 12 on the back. It was the 12th goal he's scored this season...

There are loads of opportunities for something to be called "the twelfth" in football, 'of the season, of the match, of the second half, of the year, of the month, of the week' and so on. It's called changing the criteria to get the desired result; quacks, conspiracy theorists, hippies and Uri Geller do it all the time.

There were thousands of footballers who played on planet Earth yesterday, who don't wear the 12 shirt for instance, it is only really amazing if you predicted it beforehand. Looking back and picking a coincidence out is almost guaranteed to work.

It took me almost ten years to the day to pay off my student loan.
