Basically, some blue tape is all that stands between the ground and the street light. In fact, they have been retiring the old concrete lamp posts over the course of a few years, and we are starting to get LED lights. This is one of the original lamp posts from the 1950s when the estate was built.

This is clearly austerity kicking in.

There was a concrete lamp like that outside out house until a few years ago when it started dropping bits onto the pavement.
