Nearly a grand for a 6' fence panel? Someone made a nice little profit from this.

Also, I wonder how long they take to assemble, and won't they get in the way of the fire engines etc..?

I've always slowed down on approach to an accident. There may be debris on the road. Also imagine it's not safe to go past an emergency service personnel at 70mph!

People will still slow down to try and get a glimpse, causimg every one behind them to slow down etc etc etc.
Nothing will change.

It is worth trying though. I do fear the impact of bad drivers driving at speed through them if they are not marked properly.

Even with high vis on it is incredibly dangerous to stand on the road. You can have cars with flashing signs but people will still be incredibly careless when driving nearby. There have been stories in France of firemen getting hit by cars when attending an accident.
If it means that the emergency services can do there job more safely then it's great.

Response time is also an issue. The rubber neck queues could easily build up in the few minutes veggie the emergency services arrive.
