I was looking at a One X today. Got sick of waiting for the Nexus and noticed the X can be had for £21 a month (plus I really like Sense so...) but didn't pull the trigger. Glad I waited now so I can buy the phone and get a cheap ass SIM deal with Quidco.

Got 16gb version myself

It was delivered today but I won't get to play with it for next 10 days, I am on holiday right now.

Got mine yesterday. First impressions are good. I'm surprised how light it is too. I'm missing Sense UI a little bit but I've pretty much set up the same apps and widgets as before so it's not a massive difference. It's speedy too, much quicker than my previous Sensation.

I've had my Nexus 4 for a week now any I absolutely love it. Upgrading from 2nd gen Nexus I am amazed how fast this phone is. Quad core cpu and 2gb ram should be enough to keep future versions of Android perfoming smoothly. I expect two years of upgrades on Nexus devices. I am also loving the size of the screen. On the 4" screen I found it difficult to type but on this 4.7" screen typing is very easy. However I am still learning to control the phone with just one hand, my thumbs are pretty short.

The one thing I worried about before buying it was the lack of LTE but HSPA+ is very quick on O2, even in central London.

So for £289, this device an absolute bargain. The only thing I guess some people might not like is the small storage space (8gb and 16gb). Other than that, I can't see any other faults myself.

Are you talking about the One X or the Nexus?

I was talking about Nexus 4, edited my post to be more specific.

Regarding availabity of Nexus 4: There are only around 400,000 of the devices at the moment

I'm certainly getting to grips with it now (Nexus). I've turned off Google Now to test the impact on the battery but will be turning it back on, it's really useful and something I knew nothing about prior to getting the phone. I've also started to use the phone to organise my life now with the calendar and such like, something I never bothered with before. I guess it didn't help with the HTC that I had two apps to do a lot of things, one Android and one HTC version, confusing matters meaning I used neither. Having vanilla Android has simplified this.

Not had much opportunity to play with the camera yet so can't comment on that but otherwise the speed, screen, battery life, etc are all top notch.

I can also finally play Virtua Tennis! (wouldn't run on the Sensation)

I dunno if I mentioned this but I've been given a Nexus 7 by work for testing purposes. Only the basic one mind. didn't really have much of a chance to look at it before Christmas holidays but I've had a fair play with it this morning.

I'm impressed but not really blown away. It's vastly improved over the old 2.2 device I had, no question of that. Smoother, faster, the screen is genuinely great. I mean, I was playing with a retina iPad over the weekend and the Nexus 7's screen is just as good in 'real use' terms. Whichever way the numbers fall I can't tell any functional difference between the two. I like the plastic tactile back and I find I do actually quite like the 7" form factor - although I prefer the 9/10 inch for reading stuff it seems to me 7" is probably better for an 'app platform' i.e. for interacting with stuff and displaying 'real time' information.

Jelly Bean is very smooth and 'whooshy' and more logical (to me anyway) in where things are and how they work. Setup was very smooth although a bit 'Google pushy'. I have to be honest I still prefer iOS overall, but that could be down to familiarity as much as anything.

Overall, it's a fantastic product. For the price, a staggeringly good one. If money was no object I'd probably personally go for an iPad mini but in the real world, if I was spending my own money... very hard decision. And, as I say, I've got a lot of time invested in iOS.

I've just moved from Android 2.2 to 4.1.
The difference is massive. Smoother, faster, better looking, more customisation. Folders are a but harder, but other then that it's great.
I'm hoping there'll be a 4.2 update soon for my phone too.
Having played with a friend's iPhone, I much prefer Android.

Nexus 4 update - what were they thinking with the glass back? Firstly it's not Gorilla glass so mine is already scratched to hell and has a crack in it (hasn't had any particularly bad falls either!). Also as it's so smooth it slides off anything. Pop it on the arm of the sofa and next time you look it's doing it's best to hide from you behind the cushion.
