It might seem a lot, but these faults seem within the normal distribution of faults. I do think that for a very new aircraft these faults should not be happening anyway. It might be down to design faults or problems with the quality control. They fly parts all around the world and the chance of faults not been picked up could be high.

What is a bit worrying (at least for Boeing) is that the faults aren't all in the same part of the plane, so it's not down to a single faulty component.

However, it is the battery problems that have caused the most concern.

On Wednesday, an All Nippon Airways (ANA) flight made an emergency landing because of a battery fault and fire smoke in one of the electrical compartments.

ANA said the battery in the forward cargo hold was the same type as the one involved in a fire on a Japan Airlines Dreamliner at a US airport last week.

Were the batteries made by Sony by any chance?

I have a few spare AA rechargeables in my desk draw if they want - never caught fire in the 5 yrs I have had them

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Yes and the choice of a picture with all the emergency ramps out also adds to the fail. 8-)

Can't even do that right :). I was thinking 'fail plane' but 'error plane' is actually much better.

There appear to be six emergency ramps out. You cannot tell about the last because you cannot see it, and can only assume because the other rear cabin door is also open.
