One idea I have is relatively simple but I need to break down the problem into small parts. That is my usual technique for solving problems. In the end I will run it through a flow chart to give me ideas of the modules and problems then try programming and adding each module. Thanks for the comments though.

We're on flexi time and our bosses have decided that there's gonna be a phone rota. Never mind that this causes a massive fcuk-up for people who work part-time, child care, travel times, even meal times... From my perspective, this means I'm leaving the house at 7.20am and getting in at 5.40pm since it's a 40 minute walk to work and back. I'm covering my core hours, so as far as I know they've no right to make me stay. We'll soon find out, but either way I'm not staggering home starving - I fall asleep after my tea as it is! Of course, it's gonna be left to me to put the cat amongst the pigeons since all the sheep just accepted this BS

Sky!! Sky Go, which used to be free for all Sky subscribers and allowed you to stream and download shows to watch later via the Sky Go Desktop app, has now become Sky Go Extra, which costs an extra £5 a month to enable downloads. You can only stream shows online via the website on the free Sky Go service now. I love the way the marketing sells this as giving us something extra - er, no, you're actually taking away a service and charging us for the privilege of download a show, something that used to be included for free. Greedy barstewards - shouldn't be surprised really, this is Sky after all.

Companies are like that if they cannot get new customers is that they try and get more revenue from existing customers. That is why so many ISP's have capped broadband so that if you want a cheap package you get capped, and you pay more for unlimited access.

Um, the same functionality you had before still costs nothing and you now get to 'pair' four devices rather than two, as far as I can tell from the press release. So you got something extra for free, and a download service you don't have to pay for if you don't want it. Now I consider Sky to be a pack of scrofulous jackals but I don't honestly see what there is to complain about with this.

Er, nope, they've removed the option to download content. How is that the same functionality, it's less? The download option was there in the previous Sky Go service for free if you installed the desktop application, they've moved this into the paid for service in order to make a few more quid out of their customers. I only have two devices that I'd want to enable (a laptop and an iPod touch), and I suspect most homes will only have one or two devices as well. For most people paying upwards of £40 a month, this is removing a useful service and asking for another £5 a month to enable something that was included with their subscription for free - some very angry people on the Sky forums say they're paying nearly £100 a month and can't download content that they've paid for with thier monthly subscription. If I was paying that much, I'd be justifiably pi55ed off.

The service adds extra value to Sky customers, and makes it worth keeping the subscriptions if you are regularly working late, and so can still benefit. The four devices is an improvement for families. Especially if they do not want to stretch to the multi-room service. The £5 charge for downloading is completely avoidable. Could you still use the Sky remote feature to record on your SKy+ box? Which again makes the extra charge irrelevant.

Ah right, never tried to use the desktop app to be honest with you, could never get the damn thing to work properly. I suspect they're planning to transition the service purely to mobile devices over time. Much harder to pirate stuff that way for one.. That's an assumption on your part. Since most households have at least two people in them, I think the chances of more than two devices per household is fairly high.

One of the requirements for my job is to teach using SCUBA equipment that we actually sell in the shop, to help sales. It's not uncommon in the industry but can be a pain in the arse when you switch companies. For my current job I was lucky and the only thing I needed was a different BCD. Now one of the common benefits of working for a dive shop is getting equipment at cost price, and sometimes even better ambassador rates. I got my current BCD at what was a great rate for NZ, but it was equal to retail in the UK. Now the current supplier to Oz and NZ has just lost the contract with the manufacturer, who will be dealing direct. The new prices are basically half what they were! I'm currently trying to flog my BCD on Trade Me (NZ eBay equivalent) to cover what I paid for it, so I can then go on to buy another new one at an even better price, before the new prices become common knowledge. Now that won't be too long as the owner of my shop is putting out an ad on the radio tomorrow.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Maybe one was stolen out of the box so they only got one?

I'm sick of nasty, recyclable sh1te that costs the consumer the same/more for an inferior product The latest structual wonder is a Blu-Ray case that's thinner than all the rest and has holes in the front and back. This means you can't even lift it without the entire thing flexing and/or the disc coming off the holder... the slightest knock and the case, cover and possibly disc will be damaged. How often do people actually throw away a film, no matter what it is? You give it to someone or a charity shop, sell it, throw it in the attic... unless of course it looks so battered that nobody would want it!

Last weekend, I went through my DVD collection (had to move them) and checked the discs were in the right boxes (and wouldn't you know it but the ones I lent my sister a while back are still empty though she's adamant that she's returned them!). I did noticed the change in the boxes and quality of the cases. The blu-ray cases seem quite strong. The worst cases seemed to be the later ones (early ones were just plain plastic throughout) as they tried to be "fancy" and subsequent had crap cases.

How come facebook makes events easy to see on the mobile app, but a pain in the arse to find on the normal website?
