I only laughed at the Dan Aykroyd bits and the scene with Minnie Driver's dad swearing after trying to be profound, everything else in between bored me sh1tless

But it made you laugh at least three times. I've sat through much worse. Ever seen The Hand That Rocks The Cradle?

I really hate going to the cinema - good films are rare, the seats are terrible, the sound quality is worse, ignorant b****ds arrive late and don't even go near the background noise.
I'd rather buy the DVD and cuddle the gf in private.
That said I might buy it when it comes out.

I know, the Summer movie schedule must have been considered too risky for such drama - it's not out 'til November seemingly

I just read my previous utterance.
Does it make me sound like a miserable bu**er?

quote="rustybucket" I increasingly agree - I only go the cinema now when I can almost guarantee the film itself will overcome all that. Transformers 2 Saturday next! Cuddle her in the cinema like it's the 1950s [/quote] I could see it being one of those landmark Blu Rays... No, I feel the same way about the cinema

Not at all, the cinema's onthe whole rubbish, however, go for the midnight showing towards the end of a film's run, it's like having your own private screening, the popcorn tastes nicer.

Meh. Looks like an enjoyable disaster movie, now that I've actually watched the trailer. John Cusack is still a good thing, though.

It's a bit of a TG statement, but it seems increasingly in keeping with a lot of regulars. I don't have a girlfriend to cuddle, but even if I did, there is still something magical about the cinema. If you have a good one locally and you pick your screen and time well, you can avoid most problems. Sounds like you've had one too many bad experiences, that's all (oh, and you're part of the couple mafia now )

I like watching action flicks at the cinema. Not a fan of watching anything else. My other fave is comedy but I prefer to watch that at home, where you can chill with mates and rewind to rewatch funny bits.
I also liked Independance day - thought it was a 'good' movie (as opposed to a 'bad' movie).
What bugs me more is the fact that the incas said 2012 was going to be a time of great change, not necessarily disaster. Maybe it's human nature to accept/prepare for the worse.

Nope, it's human nature to make the worst happen.
