Or too full. Windows needs hard drive space to use as virtual memory when all the actual memory is in use.

40GB HDD and not even half of it is in use. I plan to replace it with an SSD but can I clone the drive over or is it likely to cause any conflicts, esp on a network computer?

I can't see how a direct clone would cause any problems. Unless the problem you have now is cause by registry or software isses, then they'd be moved to the SSD too. Personally I like to do a fresh install.

I would lose the install, the files, the accounts etc. I don't have any of the software discs - all computers are imaged by the PCT. I don't have any of the images.

Well, there's no harm to be done in trying a clone, so go for it.
