We went two years ago and found it much more expensive than when we last went eight years ago.
Ideally they'd like a weaker currency to attract people, but they can't have that with the Euro.

Yes but that makes the UK cheaper for tourists as the currency makes it cheaper for them and more expensive for us, as imports increase in price. I was looking at going to Greece and the costs are still very high, even though I know wages have collapsed there the room rates are still very high.

I'm not saying it's bad for us. It's just not ideal from their point of view.
