I've never understood that. The show's brand of (toilet) humour is well known. Why watch if that sort of thing offends you.

I went to town last week for a bit of shopping, an appointment with the bank and to catch a movie. It cost me £12 in parking.

Damn it. Thought I'd just give iplayer a try to see if I could download it overnight and watch it tomorrow. Turns out the rig internet is router via America so iPlayer thinks I'm not entitled to see it.

Could you watch via a website like TVCatchup, or would the US router cause the same problem?

"I'd also like to apologise to the judges for making them have to watch so much Top Gear" I actually love the Tesla. Unfortunately I'd have to sell the house to buy one, and it doesn't look like I could live very comfortably in it.

I had a look at the GT-86 while I was at the dealers today. Not bad, but the back seats are pointless.

This. The only person who has ever been able to a) get into the back seats and b) be at all comfortable in them in mine is my sister in law, who is more or less 5 foot nothing. You can get kids in the back but they're not for adults. In the seat behind the driver there is almost literally no legroom, because the seat anchoring assembly butts up against the seat wall. Having said that they're not claiming anything for the seats other than occasional use. If you regularly need to carry four people, don't buy a GT-86. It's not what it's about.

I think that a lot of cars have the same problem. They put the token back seats in so that it can be sold as a family car. It is wasted space. Better to either make a bigger boot and stick the engine there.

The GT-86 is definitely not being sold as a family car. I haven't seen one single child in any of the promotional literature/content. That would make it a volkswagon beetle . The boot actually isn't bad for a non-hatchback. If you replaced the seats with storage space it'd be huge but somewhat inaccessible. The thing is they could have done it as an actual 2-seater but they'd have to move so much stuff around and redesign things it'd basically end up an entirely different car. There are already cars that fulfil the demand for that other kind of car (TT, MX-5 etc). Ditto if they'd have two 'full' back seats, that's a different car you're talking about. The GT-86 design is actually quite a good end product for the brief they started with. If you want to massively change the brief postfacto then no, it won't really fit it any more. But that's hardly a surprise, is it?

I was thinking putting the engine in the middle not making it a Beetle. Though a major redesign would be costly.

My sister's car (a Hyundai Coupe) has little seats in the back, along with warnings that you should not close the boot if people are sitting there because of "danger of death". There is really no need for there to be seats in the back of that car either. They are really just a padded shelf for extra camera equipment.

Calling it a really good parcel shelf would be an improvement.
