That's an expensive four songs! I can't believe how disproportionate the fine is.

£1.2m you get less for speeding, and that puts peoples lives at risk!!!!
All they have done is ruined this woman's life. I'm not saying she should get away with it but she will not learn from this as she will most likely never be able to pay the fine back.
All I get from this is that my dislike for the record labels still stands.

I'd be surprised if they actually collected the money. The bad publicity would ruin them. Mind you, they don't really seem to care about that, do they!

It seems the bad PR has already taken effect somewhat. Agreed

It just guarantees that my purchases of CD's will be as small as they have been for several years because of this sort of nonsense i.e. less than 1 a year and all were bargain basement at the supermarket purchases. I like music and used to buy a reasonable number each year but there are plenty of other things vying for what little disposable income I have so I can easily do without. Same goes for films. Besides CD's are far from the only way to hear music.
One day they'll die or wake up and start doing something positive for their business but I'm not holding my breathe waiting.
Richard.

Now that's what I call a pyrrhic victory - they get their conviction but they'll never see a cent. Love it.

If the family had $millions they'd have been daft to Kazza.
I wonder how much the trial cost. I'm pretty sure the lawyers got fat off this bollocks.

Complete f*cking waste of time. The fine should be proportionate to either the damage (the cost of the songs downloaded as bought say from itunes) or the person's income (say 1% of their salary for ten years).

Thomas-Rasset said she has no means of paying the fine: "There's no way they're ever going to get that.
"I'm a mom, limited means, so I'm not going to worry about it now."
right on.
