I only buy when on special offer. I'm pretty sure I've had one for a penny, and I buy so rarely they can't aggravate them.

Yes but that is a great reason to support your local traders albeit at £30 a turn.

But notes and coins are only worth anything because the bank says they are and society believes them. If shops stopped accepting them as payment they'd soon be of no value at all.

I can live with this but there will need to be legislation to stop prices simply being raised so that the consumer loses out.
