If you haven't got this yet then it's really good. Much better than tapatalk 1. By a long way.

Thanks for the recommendation. I have installed it but do not know when I will get around to using it. Better to have it installed before I need it.

Tempted, but I'm kind of happy. I assume I have to pay for it?

Well, I've already paid for tapatalk 1, so I'll stick with that.

I see what you mean but v2 is really worth paying again for.
There were some things abou TV 1 that really wound me up. Like you had to wait for it to finish loading before you could do anything etc...
V2 fixed all that.

Seems mean paying for an upgrade. OK I know Microsoft make you pay all over again each time, but still.

Yes but it also aids continuing development. It is only a couple of quid and it might seem a lot for an app, but you can always delay it as long as possible.

Shame it's not an iPhone and iPad edition, really. The iPad version is still on v1 with enough off putting reviews to make me continue to use the free version.

Why do you need to access the forum on the iPad using anything other than Safari? Okay, I'll admit that browsing with Safari on the iPhone can be a bit of a pain, but on an iPad the forum is perfectly usable in Safari. Mark

IIRC (I may be wrong) the upgrade to version 2 is free on Android, surely they're not charging for it on iOS?

I was thinking that. I bought TApatalk ages ago, but noticed that when I posted from my new phone it said Tapatalk2 on the signature.

It isn't an upgrade. It is a new app called "Tapatalk 2" version 1.0. It isn't "Tapatalk" version 2.0.
That's how they are charging for it.
Yes a bit cheeky but it's definitely worth the money.

How are they supposed to fund the time invested in writing the new version? The developers need to eat as well, you know.

I prefer to pay for apps. I read a magazine that said advert supported apps drain the battery more than the add free versions. I upgraded a few apps I used a lot to the paid for versions, and did indeed notice that my battery seemed to last longer.
