I demand things that charge in my pocket! Er, madam... No seriously, I'm willing to accept potentially harmful consequences if I can just get rid of fcuking wires

Of course, the wireless charger needs a wire...

'Genius of Invention' somewhat reminds me of TW but it's more of a history program with a technological theme than an actual technology show.

Google confirms Project Glass will support prescriptions ‘later this year,’

Quote:
A prescription version of Google Glass is coming in 2013. Google’s project Glass is a pair of glasses at the end of the day, so it follows that you’ll be able to order a pair personalized to your prescription preferences. While this has long been implied (or at the very least widely assumed), Google on Tuesday confirmed it is still working on such a variant, and it will be released later this year sometime after the Explorer Edition.

In fact, Google has shared a picture (read: not a mockup) of Greg Priest-Dorman, a member of the Glass team and an early pioneer in wearable computing, sporting one of the prototypes the company is currently testing. This adds further credence to the fact that the prescription variant will be available in time for the holiday season, assuming Google doesn’t run into stock issues.

You can't help wondering why they don't have one that clips on to your existing glasses. Sounds like more faff and cost with custom lenses etc..

If you were blind and it was some aid that stopped you walking into things, fair enough. Otherwise : dick.

For me, I only where glasses for reading and on the computer but other than that I can cope without glasses. I am not so sure that it is a practical for daily use.

Balance. With a custom design, you can ensure they don't go wonky.

I do think that Google glass might have its uses but I do see it being a bit of a fad. When any new product like this comes out I think how I could use it and since I do not skydive, horseride or mountain bike down mountains its use for me would be very limited. Also at $1500 each the cost might be excessive for all but a few.

I think people will pay the worlds largest advertising company in order to have that company collect and sell information from and to them.

Only if it is of benefit to them. If it meant that I got discounts when I enter a store it could be a valuable reason to get though how easy do you think it will be to disable the do not track features? ;)
