It is indeed a great game, looks so much better on the PC too, especially with the Physx effects on!

Whenever I turn on the physx thing it crashes the game after about 15 minutes. I tried turning down the settings but only turning off the physx stopped it crashing. I have 2 8800gts cards in ski so would have thought it would be fine. Any ides what I can do? Cheers!

Hmm, after hAving a quick read it seems the problems may be caused. By the nvidia drivers. Will try the beta drivers tomorrow.

As always, the newer the drivers the better. The beta's are fine. Try taking the cards out of SLI and use one GTS for Physx. The 8800GTS' don't SLI very well anyway.

How do I set one GPU for graphics and the other for PhysX?
Sounds like a good plan though!
IIRC the only options I had in the control panel were enable SLi and enable PhysX. I don't recall anything about allocating which card did which.

What you have at the moment is really just the bundled CUDA driver that comes with the GPU drivers. What you need to do is install the Physx software driver http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx_9.09.0428_whql.html here. It'll let you choose what card to use for Physx.

Just downloaded it now and when I ran it told me it would uninstall the software.
Where do you choose the card for Physx? in the control Panel?

Yeah, it'll uninstall it, then you run it again and re-install it. When it is done it should have changed the physx entry in the control panel to one that gives you a choice.

According to the control panel help screen... Surely that means I won't have the screen available and won't be able to set the one GPU for rendering one GPU for PhysX? I have installed the software you linked and also the Nvidia BETA drivers but still no option to select which GPU does what.

You've disabled SLI right?
Your display will run off the GPU that the monitor is connected to. Physx will hopefully run off the other one.

Yeah, even when I disable SLi (although I didn't reboot?) I still don't have the option. I had another search and apparently there is a bug with Vista that requires a second monitor (or dummy monitor) plugged in to enable to option screen in the NVidia control panel.

I would try a restart after disabling SLI, it may make a difference.
But the control panel bug would make sense too.

I may also try the BIOS to see if I can disable SLi compatability that way?
