To be fair I wasn't just watching it for Alice Roberts, I do have an interest in Anthropology generally. The book of the series is actually quite a good read - lot more stuff in it than they managed to fit in the show. My point was I was watching the final episode thinking 'bollocks, there's going to be nothing worth watching on telly on Sunday night for ages' since, for some reason, I associate Top Gear with being a winter show then the advert comes on and I cheer right up . There are apparently several "White Stigs", some are works test drivers, others stand in when the main driver isn't available.

No way is the 'real' Stig is Mr Schumacher. He was there to put a lap time down in the Ferrari FXX me thinks. The real Stig is still a mystery.

That's my understanding. Some of the firms would rather have their man at the wheel in case it all goes wrong. I'm sure the BBC would rather that was the case as well, since I'm sure from an insurance and H&S point of view it's less complicated.

I thought that the rules on cars to go on the board was that must be able to negotiate a speed bump to make them usable on the road. That car did not appear to be road legal and if you can only drive it on tracks that Ferrari deliver the car to, then it won't be seen parked outside Harrods.

Well they have had the enzo go round and a few others, saying that I'm not sure the Veyron could negotiate a speed bump... It obviously isn't a single stig, especially as for the Ferrari I think they would only let someone they knew do it, such as someone that used to race F1 for them lol. Saying that the Bacardi ad I thought was actually pretty good, understood what it was about without any help.......... ..............Don't drive a Fiat, drive a Maserati

The FXX is fully road legal and, like a lot of supercars, it has hydraulic lifters for the front suspension so it can get over speed bumps. It's a bit odd that they let the FXX remain on the board while the Caparo T1 isn't there (1' 10.6"), even though it has the same system.

Was the Caparo actually in production when they did the lap time? I know when Jeremy did the review of it that it was still seriously "buggy".

Fair enough so. It was just my opinion that firstly, it looks like a serious track car, rather than a road-going hyper-car and if what JC said is true- that you can only drive it on tracks when it is taken there by Ferrari, it isn't really what you'd call a road car. But, going by their rules, this car truly is the fastest on the board
