I still can't get artwork to show in the iTunes MiniPlayer... am I missing something?

IIRC you have to click one of the controls on the miniplayer to expand it and then you get the artwork.

...or could it because I'm using a playlist from the iPod and not the Mac?

If I click the artwork square on the MiniPlayer then the ArtworkPlayer pops up...with artwork, so it does "see" it.... but just not in the MiniPlayer... can only think it's something to do with it being on the iPod and not the Mac?

Assuming your iPod's plugged in (or using wifi sync, although I'm surprised it would work in that case tbh), could be that too.

Yeah, iPod is plugged in.

Just tested it with the Mac library, and that works, so must just be that's it's reading from the iPod. No biggy, but nice to see the artwork all the same... and it always used to work... might use the Artwork Player instead maybe...

It sucks, doesn't it. Still, you get used to its little quirks, eventually.
