I had a look at PS+ when there was a free trial. It didn't interest me even remotely. The PS3 was an impulse buy but part of it was driven by free online gaming. Any whiff of a subscription model and I'm more likely to go for Xbox but given that both are looking at locking games to consoles, I may just avoid them altogether.

You don't have any interest in getting something like £300 worth of stuff for £40?

It depends on what games you play. Also, by the time a really good game turns up, chances are you already own it. I have broad tastes in games and I still wouldn't download most of what's on there. The best thing about it is the automated save.

Since I buy anything that is an impulse buy second hand then it also as huge deterrent to a casual gamer like me. I am watching the keynote now and it looks like it is much more essential to be connected to download games. The save/resume feature looks good.

PS4 controller

That looks nasty, and not in a good way

I bulked the current controller right up so I'd be interested to test it.

Couldn't give a crap, but is he saying demos for everything? That'd be cool.

Games (inFamous spoiler)

Not bad as these things go. By the way, I'm posting these seperately so you can quote the article if you want; they're still updating.

Streaming might be a way to appease the masses. I have a PS2 game that looks like it will be streamed so not all is lost. Though I wonder if I will have to pay again or sign up for a lengthy subscription.

I think that this is aimed at mutants. You must be one to make full use of all its functions. Or come from Norfolk. Those extra fingers will come in handy.

Purchased PSN games and saves won't work on PS4 - execs looking for solution

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/39 ... ny-admits/

You'd wanna be sorting that quick otherwise people won't be buying anything other than map packs in the future. And they'd better keep hosting the old stuff for a very long time...

PlayStation 4 facts - some good stuff

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/39 ... d-to-know/

Like the BR drive and demos. The background and multi-tasking is good too. I could do without the focus on 'social', and I do wonder about this supposed bundling of a camera and headset - that should be seperate to keep costs down initially.

The only bit of the social aspect that I thought made sense was the ability to save video clips to youtube easily. Other than that it will not be used by me. Overall nothing really appealed to me. I do have concerns about having to buy older games again to play them on the PS4. Once the device is on sale I will have a look but might wait till the first reviews are out, to see what the drawbacks are.
