I wonder if they will make it say Like McDonalds and it will add a like to the McDonalds Facebook page at the same time.

Ooh, what a good idea. It could Tweet it too, and follow them at the same time. Quick - patent this.

I was being sarcastic and thinking of it as a major flaw. Rather than having to say McDonalds to skip a McDonalds ad, it will ask you say Like McDonalds to do that, and then add a like on the Facebook page. The more you skip the ads the more it adds like to the page.

So you have to shout the companies name to make the advert go away? Cue over 9000 companies popping up with names like Gace X, Fela Sheeo etc

I am waiting for the fun and games to start when this happens with TV adverts. People shouting Tampax at their screens.

I did read a few years back about a proposal that ads on web pages requiring you to answer questions about the product before proceeding. I can't see that working well. I pretty much bail at any web page that throws an advert in my face before taking me to the product.

It strikes me that advertising is the first and last port of call for anything that wants to make money these days. It is depressing.

The purchasing decision of your wares lies with the consumer, not the advertiser. No one will buy this.

Incorrect. We are all the product, to be sold to the highest bidder.

Unfortunately you are so right with that comment.

I think it’s any bidder, not just the highest.
