Oh no, this guy is on the platform. He always stands bang in the middle of the doors, with his toes three inches away from the platform edge, every day. He clearly knows exactly where the doors will be when the train is stopped, but rather than using this knowledge so he can stand exactly to the side of the doorway, he stands bang in the middle so 4 or 5 people have to exit sideways squeezing around him, and delay his boarding.

I misunderstood. I got the impression he was on the train - apologies.
Yes. Twunt.

Call me weird but to me, if you don't like crowds, the last place you want to be is right at the door of a train when it pulls in, either on the train or on the platform. That's where everyone is going to crowd who is in a hurry to get on and off. If you've claustrophobic or enochlophobic and want to get on a train you'd wait at the back, let the crush happen then get on afterwards. Course, you'd have to entirely avoid the rush hour anyway.

As I said, I thought he was on the train, not the platform.
Still, depends on what his schedule's like.

Quarterly IPRs - what in fcuk's name do they think will have changed so greatly between the months? And they clearly aren't read cos then they'd see they're copy and paste jobs! Oh, and putting them on something that looks like a mobile site that's NEVER worked? Genius :x

Waiting for my tediously slow VB script to finish. Then rinse, repeat. It feels like a personal hell at the moment!

I have to run this on about 30 different folders, and each one is taking about 10 minutes. All it's doing is extracting metadata from the file headers, but VB's string handling seems terribly slow. Unfortunately it's "company policy" because VB is what the boss does. Doesn't help that Avaya's idea of RIFF isn't exactly standard.

I was going to do it "on the fly" as part of a website, but the end user would have to wait 10 minutes after clicking before they got their file...

Has this thread turned into the Ranting & Venting Thread, part two? :)

I did ponder that when I posted, hence my careful wording on the first line :D

Oddly, no one has mentioned rats chewing their way into their faces, which would make any of the problems posted here seem preferable.

Now, if this had ever actually happened to me, with regards to this thread, I would likely have thought about nominating it for inclusion.
I'm guessing that not a lot of people here have actually experienced this particular issue, though to be fair to the origins of the Room 101, it would be most fitting indeed.

My old Geocites website. Oh dear. Thankfully it only exists in a backup folder.

I've been trying to find some Javascript I wrote many years ago, hence the archaeology. This wasn't the website I was looking for.

Vimeo - doesn't matter what hardware or connection I use, it's diarrhoea.

Really? Vimeo's awesome quality. Like grown up YouTube.
Twitter. I'll put that in Rm 101.

+1 for Vimeo, but I like Twitter. Facebook gets my Room 101 vote.

Facebook is just everywhere. I gave up my Facebook account a couple of years ago now, but I am continually being badgered to "like" this or "follow" that. It's getting on my nerves.

They're taking over the world like my next nomination:

Tesco

I'm currently looking at kitchens and found Tesco do them too (what a surprise). My bf was surprised by this and I replied "haven't you heard? they'll come round and wipe your arse too if you pay them'

We have enough stores now so no more please & personally I prefer shopping at Sainsbury's.

You realise that all those “like” buttons are contained in little iFrames? You’ll likely have FaceBook cookies on your system, used to track you. Same applies to Twitter buttons, LinkedIn, Digg etc. etc..
