I thought it was more interesting specifically because it wasn't the usual PCs - it was devices people often don't give a second thought to. It included door entry systems, which is quite a security issue!

Why is it the PC I'm working on is over 9000 times more powerful, and yet the same job takes even longer than it did in the 90s...

Currently three quarters of the way through my last security shift (at least for a while), it's 6pm-6am and I get to watch Foxtel (Sky) for most of the night. Sounds great, except its an hour away from home, and I worked in the office from 8-4 so had to come straight here when I got home from work.

4 more hours to stay awake and then the ride home.
