Thank you all.

Looking forward to it. I'm going to be the network administrator of a relocation services company.

Redundancy package is pretty good. Got a lot more than the statutory. Thankfully I won't have to touch it, aside from clearing some debt. It will go into my savings.

You would be doing best to clear any debts rather than have any savings. Once you are debt free then save the excess.

If you don't want to just settle for savings there is also Peer to peer lending which seems to be taking off. Thinking about doing it myself.

Zopa seems like a good idea, though they look like creaming off the best loan risks from banks as they will offer lower loan rates to customers rather than banks. The advantage comes from them being a low cost loan provider. As a potential saver the money is lent in £10 amounts to anyone who fits their risk profile. So someone saving £5000 would have mini loans to 500 people all for £10. There is a loss pool so that people do not lose money so seems to be a sensible solution to the pathetic rates on offer from banks.

Might have a little investment in that after I move house, interest rates from ISAs are pants at the minute so aside from being a rainy day fund I can have some actual investments elsewhere, guessing as its non secondary income if its not taxed as it's earned its a self assessment jobbie which I dont currently do (no benefits past PAYE)

I suspect that even so you will still earn more interest than an ISA even with the tax benefits.

It seems Nurse Julie is not able to get to work today, so the health centre visit has been postponed. Reverting to Plan B.

I suppose I could, but I'd rather not. I'll survive and hopefully learn my lesson.

Weekend is phone, keys, wallet. I just need to add ticket and pass to create a weekday routine (and probably ticket to the weekend one too)

Keep the ticket in the wallet?

Radio 2 is quite good during the day ;)

I grew up with Radio 2 as the background to my mornings, and evenings. I remember Wogan and Young and Murray, and John Dunn, oh and Wagoners Walk! Then I discovered Radio 4, and loved Just A Minute, The News Quiz, all kinds of comedy and drama, decent news - particularly The World Tonight.

Now I ignore them all most of the time. ;)
