You'd seriously struggle to name 40 FPSs from the last few years, especially ones that were ever expected to sell by anyone with a brain.
And who's fault is it when a disgrace like Aliens: CM gets released, eh?
We've never had it so good*, but that's also why dross or bad business model efforts sit on the shelf. At least have the wit to have a digital fire sale after your first month or whatever, maybe look at your sales figures then and consider DLC... but then I'm a customer, I should be charging you for this enlightenment
* The classics of every genre are back and better than ever with newer efforts like Dishonored and Batman to name two, backed by some stellar indie efforts that are propping up online services that actually deserve to die off otherwise.
