Ha, I suspect you're probably right.
No politician else since Churchill has had one, and to be fair, he did see us through a spot of local bother.
Comparing her to him is laughable.

Just as an aside since someone asked, she's being given a military state funeral (although not a full state funeral because her family didn't want one. Which I think means no day off. Bah. Even in death she thumbs her nose at the working classes. Anyway) because she was Prime Minister during a war. It's traditional.

So you're saying we'll have this farce for Major, Blair, Brown and Cameron?

not sure what the exact protocol is. I don't think you get one if you 'inherit' a war so I don't think Cameron will unless he decides to start one. Major maybe will (first gulf war). Blair.. I think his wars may be a bit too controversial...

After 24 hours of 'Margeret Thatcher is dead' apparently being the only news item, the BBC News channel really have reached desperation point. They are reduced literally to hassling strangers in the street to fill their coverage.

Good thing literally nothing else has happened in the world then in the last 24 hours then.

They've just interviewed a retired Granada weatherman about Thatcher's death. Seriously.

Update : Oh, no, actually they haven't. I had the sound turned down. In fact he's been arrested for sex offenses.

Not really the police were just as much victims of Thatcher. They previously thought that they were part of the establishment but they were banned from striking by her. Look at how badly police pay has done since her reign. The police should also have been celebrating as well.

Er I'm sure unless my maths is wrong that labour were in power for most of the time since she resigned.
