Radio 2 is quite good during the day ;)

I grew up with Radio 2 as the background to my mornings, and evenings. I remember Wogan and Young and Murray, and John Dunn, oh and Wagoners Walk! Then I discovered Radio 4, and loved Just A Minute, The News Quiz, all kinds of comedy and drama, decent news - particularly The World Tonight.

Now I ignore them all most of the time. ;)

I grew up with it too but went on to Radio 1, Capital, Heart and Kiss as I got older. Did you ever listen to Sing something Simple on a Sunday? Was one of my Mum's favourites and she always had it on if I went round for lunch. Wogan still does a Sunday show if you want a fix. Catch it on iPlayer :)

I've been listening to the Saturday Graham Norton show for the last 3 days. With work interruptions it's taken me that long to hear it all. Still have about 15 minutes left lol.

Time to start doing some thinking.

C'mon spill the beans. You can't leave us hanging like that.

Let's just say headhunter has been in contact with a offer. It's a lot of money.

Ack. And as for Norton, I remember him on Loose Ends with the late great Ned Sherrin when Norton was still new and funny.

I have my own music collection for when I need something to rock to. Otherwise, it's podcasts on all manner of topics, and Radio Bore Extra for the proper old comedy shows.

Money doesn't always buy happiness. Remember if it's a big company there's always tons of internal politics involved and you can't really 'do your own thing'. Keep us posted though and good luck.

And even if money does not buy happiness it makes being miserable a lot easier to bear

Indeed but I was trying to stress to make the right decision and not one just based on money (which I have done in the past). Sometimes a lower paid job will bring you more happiness than a higher paid, longer hours, more stressful job. Companies do not pay huge salaries for working 9-5 and during my experience of working with Simon he seemed very happy in his current role.

I may investigate the opportunity and see what it actually means in time & quality of life.

I'm happy where I am but it's a lot of money to turn down, especially with the chance of career progression with a larger firm.

Yes it is a lot of money. What does your wife think? I bet she's spending it in her head already lol.

Haven't properly discussed it.
It would mean she could give up work whilst still sending the little one to nursery providing we stayed in our current house.

It's a big decision and one not to be taken lightly (especially with what I have at the moment). I just need to work out the business plan where I am to work out my next 5 years etc
