Good for the not so savvy consumer but I've had all the features these smart TV's have since about 2005 when I built my first HTPC

I am not going to admit to being savvy, though I sometimes wonder what is the point with some of the features I read about in the new Internet TV's. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk.

That's what Sky+ is for. I hardly watch any programs 'live' any more and my life is so much better now I no longer have to tolerate adverts.

Sky *shudder* I honestly can't imagine having to pay for a tv license, then pay for an extra subscription to still only see the 2 programs that we habitually watch (Doctor who and QI) I suppose it's because I'm so busy when I'm at home there just isn't time to sit and stare at a box for hours at a time. At least with the radio it can accompany whatever chores I'm doing and makes a nice counterpoint to the evening's relaxing.

People get enjoyment from different things. It's called entertainment for a reason, I'm quite happy doing what I do. (8+) Mark

I enjoy watching TV too but that doesn't mean I'm not doing other things at the same time

IMO if it's not worth your full attention, then it's not worth watching.

I think it's a female thing. My wife seems to be able to watch the telly while doing umpteen other things.

Not just female, my Dad did it too. He could even sleep and watch tv and the minute you went near the control you got "don't turn it over' haha! Although I think females are definitely better at it
