Indeed. Not a bad film itself, but a bit slow to get going and not quite as smart as Pixar's best. Better than Cars, mind. Julie Walters does a very good turn as a witch.

Yeah, it never really kicked into gear Brave, all a bit dull really, worth watching once though, if only for admiring the animation. Agree the short at the beginning was very good.

The Amazing Spider Man - what was the point? I'm really really not a fan of the comic book hero films anymore. I loved the 80s Batman and the Christopher Reeve Superman but the new ones just don't do it for me.

Snow White and the Huntsman - Better than I expected. Quite enjoyable even with Kristen Stewart and her one expression 'acting'.

Have you seen the previous trilogy out of curiosity?

I personally found them so naff that TAS was an improvement, but it was always gonna be a stretch to show something 'new' as a result. I see it as a 'decent enough' de-cluttering exercise for a more adult-themed Spidey, or at least that's what I'm hoping for!

BTW, I know a girl who HATES Robert Downey Jr. and superhero films* who thought Iron Man 3 was decent, so don't write off all supe films just yet. Iron Man 1 and 3 have a good few funny lines and scenarios in them!

* She also hates Gwynny

Think I saw the first Spiderman and I've seen Iron Man 1. I'm a huge Downey fan so will probably get around to the other 2 but it's not at the top of my list.

Skip Iron Man 2! Unless you enjoy two hours of characters basically brooding...

There were a few cool scenes in IM2 but agreed - it was nothing compared to the first one.

Iron Man 2 is better than you think.
It's funnier, there's further character development and there's still cool fight scenes with [LIFTED] blowing up.

I rather liked the original Transformers despite it needing slightly more plot. Then I caught it on TV a few years later and realised I might have been giving it too much credit for the SFX

2, even the director and it's star admitted it was botched. It's possibly one of the worst major films I've ever seen.

3, how you can make a film about giant robots kicking ass boring is beyond me. And they hired a few really good actors and gave them nothing to work with - with the obvious exception of the enormous paycheck.

I'd love a Transformers every few years; just keep Bay the fcuk out of it. I'm hopeful Pain and Gain is some sort of turning point for him. Hell, I love his old action thrillers!

I found it difficult to identify the transformers once they had transformed into robot form. Quite oftem I was trying to work out which one I should be cheering for in a fight.

Iron Man 3

Made me laugh, there's some cool action sequences, and some nice character development.
Ben Kingsley's great.
Stuff happens.
Not a bad way to spend a couple of hours at the movies.

And yes I stayed for the end scene.

Identity Thief - it was ok for date night for me and the future Mrs Blue, few chuckles, better than we thought.
