The silly gits should be happy that anyone wants to get married these days

What annoys me is I'd bet the majority of their voters don't give a crap either way, but they were looking at severe internal divisions because they're essentially a bunch of old men.

I'm surprised the policies are that way round. I'd have thought Sinn Féin being linked to a catholic country like Ireland would be the ones wanting to stop gay marriage. I guess you can't judge a book by its cover after all.

I know, it does stick out, doesn't it? But SF aren't dumb; they have large drives within every community bar unionist you can think of. They don't care if you beamed down so long as you can vote. And often

They've had to if nothing else - we have loads of 'mainstream' parties, and then the parties who get votes from people who are sick of the mainstream (Alliance, Greens, Socialists etc and the odd independent from some inevitable split ).

For most people it really is not an issue. It might only appeal to a few as a policy but for most people they will not vote against them on this issue alone.
