Here’s the opening sequence. You’ve go to really try hard to bet this:

It was a rather good series, and I liked the artwork and general style of it. They kept that style going until The Batman, where it all went a bit crazy. I’m not so keen on the style of Brave and the Bold, and I have reservations on the look of the CGI series that’s on its way.

If my memory serves me properly, the canopy slid forward.

The animated series is fantastic. It sounds daft, but even individual episodes mixed noir with horror and great action scenes. I was about 10 or 11 years old and still distinctly remembered the way they handled Harv's backstory, for instance.

I've got the whole set and the HotWheels version of the car :D

I should have been more clear. I never watched TAS at the time it aired in the UK (did it ever air on terrestial TV?). I have watched snippets of it on youtube since and have been mightily impressed. It did seem to embody what Batman was all about.

Does the canopy open on that model?

Sadly, none of the models have moving pats. Even the wheels are fixed. :(

Yes, but not on it's own. It was broadcast as part of a ITV Saturday morning 3 hour show called "What's Up Doc" heavily themed around Warner Brother's products - Looney Toons and onward. Presented by.. Andy Crane, Pat Sharp and Yvette Fielding as I recall. Had something of the irreverent nature of Tiswas about it. They had a couple of wolf puppets done by Jim Henson & co that were genuinely hilarious - I can't imagine a BBC show would have a couple of wolf puppets on whose escapade every week basically involved trying to figure out how they could get away with eating the children in the audience. They went on to have their own show. The show also had Animaniacs, which is the best 'cartoon' series anyone has done since Chuck Jones retired.

Aha - What's Up Doc on wikipedia

As soon as you mentioned wolf puppets, I immediately recognised what you were on about but couldn't remember the names. Thanks for the youtube link Caz - that's exactly what I pictured.

I think most cartoon shows from that era were part of a children's show. Which year(s) was that from?

Edit: 1992-4 from the youtube link. Wonder why I never watched Batman back then. What time would B:TAS have come on?

I remember they kept you watching by splitting it at least!

IIRC It was often split into sections in the show, one third per hour.

And when are you allowed to wear headphones in the US army going by that video?

Those are just some awesome pics :D

It's as well I don't have the room for those cars since they look far better as models than they ever did in the comics!
