So don't keep snacks in the house. I rarely buy crisps, biscuits or chocolate for home. I'm more likely to buy a bag or a bar when at work as a treat.

Same here, though I am considering how to make them, and that slows the eating of biscuits considerably. I cannot remember when I last bought crisps. It must have been many years ago. I might nibble the odd crisp when out and about with friends. Though never have any at home. I used to get Jaffa cakes but they would go quickly. I have a hypothesis that Jaffa cakes go stale within thirty minutes of opening the packet. Though somehow have never been able to verify that fact. The packet never seems to last that long.

TBH it's largely settled now. I don't buy 6-packs of crisps, packs of peanuts, biscuits, cakes etc. The diet helped because I felt my stomach shrink and fill more quickly with less food. I had pizza recently and tried to eat as much as I used to but couldn't - I was full after three slices and I normally could eat half a large pizza along with wedges and garlic bread.

I buy snacks for when I have friends around, but I've had to throw some away because they get forgotten about. Doritos do not keep 2 years past their use-by...

If you eat slowly your body will tell you when you're full and you'll eat less. If you eat quickly the body doesn't have time to calculate how much you've eaten so you can over eat more easily :)

My wife's grandad has just passed away this evening (she and her parents were at his side).
Not sure how I'm going to tell James he can't see his great grandad again.

Sorry for your loss. It's not easy to explain to small kids, a lot depends on belief systems but I hope you find a way xxx

When I was young my uncle, then my grandma then my aunty died. I was told the truth, I am to this day thankful that I was in a position to understand the reactions of those around me. The truth.

My dad has been warning us about my mum. She had a quadruple bypass last year and has terminal heart disease so she could go at any time. We are still planning for her birthday later this month.

Already this morning I've given away a pass holder that I will almost certainly need now that I've done that, donated a fiver just as I was thinking I've spent over £50 on Ninja Turtles figures, and got asked if I'll shift a ridiculously long shelving unit into a car... I hate my 'good nature' :x

I've always found that whenever I've done one good act/deed, the universe punishes me three times. Still doesn't deter me.

It would deter me

I'm at the stage where everybody just assumes I'll help them
