The garage door fell on the car whilst reversing. This is despite replacing the mechanism that helped it go up/down and the "gadget" I installed to keep it open in heavy winds. I think it mainly landed on the windscreen and maybe the very edges of the bonnet by the windscreen. Car's wet so can't assess the damage. Just majorly pi$$ed off, esp after spending £1000+ to do it up for a car show.
ION: The ridiculous hoops practices are being made to jump through for CQC means we're going to have to close the practice on a regular basis. Staff need to be in for much of it. We're also being forced to upgrade our computer systems (software wise) so we're "up-to-date" and that will also mean more problems.

http://www.cqc.org.uk/There are a whole of things they want/demand. Some are reasonable eg clean, sterile area for minor surgery. Some seem silly eg all chairs must be wipedown. This means replacing our comfortable fabric-covered chairs with hard plastic ones, which we have to pay for. Some are downright ridiculous eg dog poo protocol.

That's crap and one of the reasons I don't want to rent. Hated the hassle of finding suitable places year on year as a student.

Can you club together with friends and buy a house between you? My cousin owns a three bedroom house in London. When he first got it, it was one room for him and he rented the other two rooms out. That made it affordable. Not sure about his deposit though.

You still need to save up 30% for a deposit and that can take years, and if you lose your job, then it will stop you getting benefits, until it is below a threshold. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk.

I got nothing this year, so effectively a paycut. It's been a rough year in construction.

I have a friend who had to take a pay cut as a construction engineer, though he has a longish contract so he should be okay for a few years. Though construction is still tough sector to be in. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk.

I'm a designer so we got hit earlier, about 6 months after the architects. We are picking up now, but construction workers are going to suffer for a few more years as there are no jobs in the pipeline :S

I can appreciate that. The problem is that except for big infrastructure projects there is not much about, though I think commercial property construction is showing signs of life.
