On the consumer side, EVGA have released a GTX285 for 2009 Mac Pros (needs the firmware revision on the newer Mac Pros). Has a healthy price boost over the "Windows" version though, I believe.

I expect it will. The thing is, provided I can get at least a 512MB card, it will do me adequately.
If I do find I push it beyond the limits, I have the option of an upgrade - something not easily accomplished with my MacBook Pro.
It's not about how much gfx ram you can slap in there, it's the gpu powering that ram that's important. AN 8800GT with 512MB ram with p155 on a 9500GT with 1GB RAM
Quote me potentially ginger, because I'm definitely planning a Mac Pro this year. Strangely, in order to future proof it, I'm looking at the biggest, baddest mother of a gfx card Apple will supply. If I can afford it.
Add me to the Mac Pro owners list. I'm not ginger though.
