Not in the right way. Interesting comments somewhere about Osbourne's help to buy scheme. The big construction projects should be stable not boom and bust because of whom in power. What would help is funding the construction of two million affordable homes. It would eliminate the housing waiting lists and allow people some stability. It would also substantially lower the housing benefit bill. Then as people move in they would furnish their homes and that would create jobs elsewhere in the economy.

Stressy day at work, spent the entire day tired and in a foul mood, came home to my sanctuary and have had a pleasant evening but for some reason the cats have chosen tonight to spend fighting like children :( Have just taken the compressed air can and the water sprayer to all 3 boys and scattered them about the house for some peace, now hopefully I can re-chill enough to sleep at some point tonight

Snog Marry Avoid is such an offensive, terrible show. Parents give their kids up for having too extreme styles and the "pod" styles them down.

They took a pretty rockabilly girl with blue hair and turner her into that boring high street rockchick.
Also it made fun of people buying 2nd hand clothes instead of buying on the high street. WTF?

Years ago I knew of a pair of sisters who were given a monthly allowance and that had to cover everything apart from home meals. They had to get school clothes out of that budget. So while both wore avant-garde clothing they did it on the cheap. In fact the younger sister (14) had saved so much money that she had already saved the equivalent of a years income for a new job seeker at that time.

[LIFTED] cars. Over the last month or so...

My dodgy wing mirror finally fell off yesterday (patched up until I order a new one)
The parking sensors stopped working (not looked at this yet)
Rear wiper isn't working (had to solder some wires that broke under the boot lid)
Rear wiper and front/rear wash now not working (because I did the above soldering and blew a fuse! Also now need to re-do the wiring)
Exhaust is blowing as of this morning
Position one on the heater/blower not working (I've got a replacement part to fit)
and Air Con not working (needs gassing I believe)

Stuff really builds up doesn't it. Bearing in mind Horace is a classic so parts aren't easy to come by....my list goes like this:

Air Idle control valve went last year, it's taken me until now to find the right one.
Slave cable on the windscreen wipers broke and only the passenger side wiper worked.
Headlight, side light and indicator on the passenger side smashed in an accident.
Aerial snapped off and motor jammed.
Both electric window motors are running out of life and require physical assistance to get the windows up.
Sunroof leaks so I can only wash manually.
Camber and Castor are both screwed on the driving wheels, indirect benefit of this is that the tyre tread isn't wearing.
Oil leak somewhere in the engine bay, have been looking for nearly two years and I can't find the stupid thing, even engine out!

The lights, aerial and control valve should all be fixed this week. Got the windscreepers sorted last week, window motors should be done next week but they are the only bits I have a lead on at the moment.

I'm having one of those days when everything's [LIFTED]. People "choosing" to believe something is genuine when it's piss easy to Google how it's all CGI. People watching a man "teach" a wolf cub how to howl. Next in the series, a man teaches a spider how to spin a web by dropping it off its hand and teach a fish to swim by putting it in the water. A Times article that blames the male sex for all crimes of rape and paedophilia, notice not the men who do it, but we, as men. I thought sexism was old-fashioned, turns out it's just flipped.

We do not have true sexual equality.

Although a lot of sex crimes are done by men, those done by women aren't really highlighted. Spousal abuse by a woman against her husband? Unthinkable! It must be the other way round!

Then look at adverts. A lot of "pro-women" adverts seem to rubbish men. There are fewer "pro-men" adverts. Equality would mean there would be equal numbers of anti-men/women adverts. True equality would mean there wouldn't be any adverts that rubbish any gender.

I'm reasonably close friends with.. um, a woman who was the victim in a recent high profile domestic abuse case. As a reaction to her experience, she decided to use the profile/publicity she got from it to campaign against such things, hoping to possibly help other women who had ended up in the same horrible situation she did. She spent a couple of months studying the statistics and she decided her time was much better spent trying to help the profile of people campaigning against domestic violence against men. She told me three things...

1) 40% of all domestic violence cases reported to the police in the UK have a male victim. Yet less than 5% of prosecutions have women as the accused.
2) There are roughly 7,000 places in domestic violence refuges in the UK. Of those 7,000 places, 7 are available to men. Seven. Single figures seven. 0.1% seven. All but one refuge in the UK refuses to accept men as they feel it will upset their female residents.
3) A woman that is party to a divorce who has a record of domestic violence is still more likely to be given custody of any children than her husband.

I have no wish to belittle the suffering of women in abusive relationships. They should get any help they need, this is a given. But the simple fact is a woman in an abusive relationship in the UK is much, much more likely to be able to get help than a man.

Advertisers target the people they think will buy their product. They're not interested in being fair or polite. There are women in the UK who are just as sexist and boorish as any man. Advertisers will target them if they think it's the best tactic. There are still adverts that are basically a model draped over a product, as it's not entirely one way traffic either way. However, we as a society have grown up enough to generally realise that "Look, boobs! Buy our stuff!" is a patronising and insulting idea. We haven't (apparently) grown up enough to realise that "Look, a six pack stomach! Buy our stuff!" is equally patronising and insulting. The diet coke ads are the obvious example. It's debatable if a role reversed version of them would even be allowed on television.

Dumb [LIFTED] family! :x :x :x

My sister leaves her car just outside the back gate (don't ask, logic doesn't trouble her), which means the gate is open and every dickhead under the sun can march on in. Even tonight when kids took her car's detailing for a sticker and tried to peel it off, she still leaves it there. This also enabled some randomer to ask me where number 4 was; I don't know cos we've got flats, houses and a bungalow all in the one small area... he looked at me like I was mental, when he obviously hasn't been looking at the numbers either!

The gate being open means we have kids actually playing football in our backyard, delivery men looking in when you're having breakfast/half naked/just in your own wee world... and you've no idea how disturbing it is to look up and see some cnut neighbour watching you eat!

I don't know if documenting my family's idiocy before I murder them will help my case or not...

It is never worth it, even if they deserve it, you would be the one in trouble. Unless they are truly evil they might simply be misguided idiots. So limit the damage that they can do you and allow someone else to rid them instead. :)
